Crossword 098: The Herd of Independent Minds

October 4, 2019 David Bywaters
Thomas Sidney Cooper, Cattle in Canterbury Meadows

Thomas Sidney Cooper, Cattle in Canterbury Meadows

The main purpose of my work, like that of many crossword constructors these days, is to effect political change.  I find that, if I mention a thing in one of my puzzles, people start thinking about that thing in the way I want them to think about it, and change ensues.  Way back in April 2018, for example, I included POT in a puzzle (No. 023, 65 Down), and since that time, marijuana legalization efforts have continued to gain ground nationally. This week, I call attention to the role of animal agriculture in global warming.
